FAQ
When does Scam With Your Friends come out?
October 2026, as an Early Access release on Steam. No exact day has been announced, and specific dates on other sites are third-party guesses. The release date page tracks the official window and every date that has circulated.
How much does Scam With Your Friends cost?
Not announced. The developer has said pricing is not finalized. The $8 figure attached to the game is a playtest-only AI add-on, and its own terms say the full game does not need it. See the price page.
What platforms is it on?
Windows PC, on Steam. That is the only confirmed platform. Mac and Linux are marked unsupported in the store data, consoles have not been announced, and there is no Roblox or mobile version. Details on the platforms page.
Is it multiplayer?
Yes. Online co-op with friends or public lobbies, plus a single player mode. The lobby size has not been announced. The multiplayer page covers what is confirmed.
How does the AI work?
Every caller is generated in real time, and the store page discloses that the game connects to the third-party service OpenRouter for AI content generation. AI usage is metered during the playtest and unlimited in the full game. The AI and OpenRouter page has the details.
Can I still join the playtest?
Signups are closed after more than 12,000 registrations. Access is now granted from that pool, and each player can invite up to three friends. The playtest page explains how access works now.
Is the $8 purchase the game?
No. The $8 Unlimited AI add-on includes no game key and no playtest access, lasts only while the playtest is active, and the full game includes unlimited AI anyway. It is covered on the price page and the playtest page.
Does it support mods?
Yes, as a base feature: the store lists heavily moddable content, custom personalities through JSON files and voice cloning through WAV files. The formats are undocumented so far. See the mods page and the custom personalities page.
How many languages does it support?
23, and every one of them is marked with full audio support, which is credible because the caller voices are generated rather than recorded. The languages page lists them all.
Is there a Roblox version or a mobile version?
Not announced by anyone. Short clips circulating on social platforms have been folded into videos claiming both exist. The platforms page and the safety and scams page explain where those claims come from.
What do you actually do in the game?
You run a scam call center in Kolkata with your friends: take live AI calls, work the day's scam, get into the victim's computer, hit the daily quota, survive hazards like police raids, and clock out before the boss's review. The how to play page walks the loop.
Is this game safe? Is it teaching real scamming?
It is a comedy game, and the scamming is fiction against AI-generated characters. This wiki describes the game and never teaches or links real scam methods, key sellers or pirated copies. The safety and scams page states the policy in full.
